Eastwest fertility is located within the Ashgrove Wellbeing Centre and is operated by Jennifer Byrne, MEd; BHSc (Acup); Cert. Chinese Medicine (China); Dip Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM); Fellow AACMA. Jenny has a special interest in infertility, pregnancy and Women's Health. Her skill at treating these disorders comes from 20 years clinical experience in using acupuncture, Chinese herbs and other therapies to promote fertility, support healthy pregnancies and babies and rectify Women's Health disorders. Her practice fuses the past with the modern where she combines traditional Chinese medicine principles and treatments with Western medicine knowledge, protocols and nutritional supplementation.

Jenny studied Chinese Medicine in Australia and overseas. Her four year training was completed in 1987 and included an internship in the Red Cross Hospital in Hangzhou, China where she worked in the Chinese Medicine gynaecology and obstetric department. Since, she has kept up with advances in both Chinese and Western medicine reproductive health and infertility through seminars, conferences and education.

Jenny has a Master of Education and her committment to the education of future Chinese Medicine practitioners is reflected in the ten years she has been lecturing. She lectures at the Australian College of Natural Medicine (ACNM) in reproductive health and gynaecology and obstetrics. As a senior lecturer she lectures and supervises students in clinic at intermediate levels in acupuncture and at advanced levels in acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

 

Camilla Edkins, BHSc (Acup), Cert. Advanced Clinical Studies (China), Dip HSc (Acup), member AACMA, has recently joined Jenny at Eastwest Fertility. Coming from a nutrition background, Camilla went on to study acupuncture at ACNM. She completed her degree in Nanning, China where she spent time in the gynaecology wards of two hospitals in southern China, as well as attending the surgery unit where Cesearian Sections were performed.

Camilla has been working as an Acupuncturist since 2005 and has been personally trained by Jenny. She has a passion for Women's Health and joins Jenny to assist in Eastwest's fertility focus, as well as pregnancy care, labour preparation and general women's health. Camilla regularly attends seminars on gynaecolgy and obstetrics in the modalities of acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutrition.

Eastwest Fertility is pleased to announce Camilla is also available as a support person for birthing. She provides acupuncture and massage throughout the labour. Since graduating she has attended labours at several hospitals, including the Royal Women and Children's Hospital, The Mater and Ipswich Hospitals.
